Frequently asked questions
Short answers about platforms, plans, sync and the AI agent.
XConnect is a remote access client for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android. One app covers SSH, Telnet, RDP, VNC, serial and SFTP, with jump hosts, background SSH tunnels, batch scripts and an AI agent that runs commands in your terminal and asks before anything destructive. Core features work offline without an account; you sign in only to sync between devices.
Yes. RDP is built in: connect to Windows desktops from Windows, macOS and Linux, and from Android and iOS phones with touch or trackpad mode, pinch-zoom, right-click and hardware keys. No gateway or relay PC is needed. RDP is included in Pro and Lifetime.
Yes, in the desktop app. VNC works with Linux VNC servers and macOS Screen Sharing, can scale to the pane or stay view-only, and can go through your jump hosts. Serial connections use a COM port or USB-serial adapter with the usual baud rate, data bits, parity and flow control settings. Both are included in the free plan.
The free plan includes 1 jump host and 2 SSH tunnels. Pro and Lifetime remove both limits: add as many jump hosts as you need, chain them, bind them to any connection, and run as many tunnels as you like — local, remote or SOCKS5. Tunnels keep running after you close the terminal.
No. Every core feature works fully offline with local encrypted storage. An account is only needed if you want to sync connections across multiple devices.
For most day-to-day work, yes. SSH, SFTP, RDP, VNC, serial, tunnels, jump hosts and batch scripts are built in, and the desktop app imports your sessions from MobaXterm, Xshell, PuTTY, SecureCRT and FinalShell in one step. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and there are iOS and Android apps too.
Yes. The desktop app finds the sessions Xshell, MobaXterm, PuTTY, SecureCRT and FinalShell have saved, or reads an exported file or your ~/.ssh/config. Folders become groups, jump hosts and port forwards come along, and connections you already have are skipped. Those tools encrypt saved passwords with their own keys, so you enter each password once, on the first connect.
Yes. XConnect ships with an open self-hosted sync server option — point the app at your own server and your data never touches our infrastructure.
It reads the real output of your terminal session, can run commands on your behalf, and explicitly asks for confirmation before anything destructive. It's scoped to the session you invoke it in.
The iOS / iPadOS app is on the App Store now. The Windows, macOS, Linux and Android apps will be available to download here soon.
The Lifetime license is tied to your account, not to a specific device. Activate on as many machines as you use — sign in and your data and license restore automatically.
The features are identical. The only difference is how you pay: Lifetime is a one-time $88 payment with all future major updates included; Pro is $8/month or $68/year and can be cancelled at any time.
